Legal Experience: Attorney Jeffrey A. Hanley is Of Counsel to the law firm of Taylor, Ganson & Perrin, LLP. Mr. Hanley is a skilled and experienced attorney who has engaged in sophisticated trust and estate planning/administration and tax work since 1991. He began his legal career in Virginia as an Associate in the Business/Tax Section of Hazel & Thomas, PC (now part of Reed Smith, LLP). Before joining Taylor, Ganson & Perrin, LLP, he worked for more than 10 years as a sole practitioner creating a tax-based practice focused on complex trust and estate planning and administration work, the representation of closely-held businesses, and the creation and administration of tax exempt organizations. Mr. Hanley has extensive experience in developing, designing, and implementing innovative and sophisticated estate plans designed to meet each client's planning goals while minimize gift, estate, and generation skipping transfer taxes. He also has many years of experience representing owners of closely-held businesses, working with those clients to minimize transactional costs and to develop and implement business, estate, and succession plans. Mr. Hanley has successfully brought several estates through the intricate IRS estate and gift tax process. In addition to his work as a practicing attorney, Mr. Hanley was an Adjunct Professor at Lord Fairfax Community College teaching Estate Planning and Administration in their paralegal program. Law Associations and Bar Admissions: Mr. Hanley is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is also a member of American Bar Association and a long time member of its Taxation Section and its Real Property, Trust & Estate Law Section. In addition to being admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, Mr. Hanley is admitted to the Bars of New Jersey (1991), Pennsylvania (1991), Virginia (1992), and the District of Columbia Bar (1992). Education and Honors: Mr. Hanley is a graduate of the Temple University Beasley School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor in May 1991. While in law school Mr. Hanley distinguished himself as a member of the school's Moot Court Honor Society and as a member of the Moot Court Team that took First-Place in the prestigious William B. Spong, Jr., Invitational Moot Court Tournament held annually at the College of William and Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law. Mr. Hanley graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where he received a Bachelor of Music with a double major in Music Business and Economics. | ||||||||
